Every Heart Has A Story Event and a hodge podge of other things

Wow - this was a very busy, yet great, weekend!

First things first - today is a special day in the heart mom blog world.  There is one heart mom that "hosts" a special blog event called "Every Heart Has A Story" on her blog.  It's where all the heart mom's can post a link to their blog and their child's heart story.  This is awesome because all of the other heart moms out there can go to this one page and find all kinds of heart blogs and websites of other childrens' stories!  I have found a lot of heart blogs at this page.  I think if you click on the picture below, it will take you to the blog.  I posted Claire's story there this morning!

To follow up from last week, I still have not heard from the surgeon as to where exactly Claire's gallbladder is.  I am hoping to hear soon.  If not, I will call back this week!

Onto this past weekend.  It was a busy one!  Saturday, Claire sat in a high chair at a restaurant for the first time.  She was still a little small and a little wobbly, but she liked it a lot better than sitting in the car seat the whole time.

Saturday afternoon, Trent and I ended up consolidating my truck and his truck into one family vehicle for me to drive.  He still has his farm/work truck, but by doing this, we were able to cut out an entire vehicle payment a month!  That will definitely be a huge help!!!!

We decided to try Claire in the nursery again at church Sunday and she did great!  She looked so cute in her ladybug dress at church that Mrs. Susan gave her when I was only a few months pregnant.  She can finally wear it!!!!!

These next few pictures are "catch up" pictures meaning they are from a few weeks ago, but I am just now getting around to posting them.  But wanted to share!!

Claire visited VBS at Centenary UMC 2 weeks ago and stopped by in the nursery.  Here are a few pictures of her new friends!

Below is the infamous birthday party hat that Granny Mary puts on Claire every month birthday.  This is from her 10 month birthday on August 6th.

Here is Claire enjoying her new toys!

And having fun in the swing at Grandma Neat Neats!

These next pictures are from my birthday at the end of July.  We went swimming and ate good food and birthday cake.  As you can see, Claire doesn't quite know what to think of people singing "Happy Birthday"!  I also tried to get her to stick her finger in the cake but she wouldn't.  The second picture is just before the melt down began....

On a different note, here is Claire back at Grandma Neat Neat's out for a stroll!  This was while me and Trent were trading vehicles.  She looks like she had lots of fun!

Now back to our weekend.  Well, Sunday was busy, busy, busy!  We went to church and Claire did awesome in the nursery even only after a 30 minute nap that morning.  We then decided we would attempt to eat at Flounder's with Grandpa to celebrate his 85th birthday.  Claire slept through part of it and then at the other part and did great!  Not long after that, we went to Grandpa's actual party and had cake and ice cream.  You can see Claire in the background checking out the cake!  I gave Claire a taste of the homemade peach ice cream.  She didn't quite know what to think of it.  Claire was so tired while we were at the table eating, she actually fell asleep sitting up in my arms!  Too sweet.  She also got to play with her cousins Anna and Connor at the party.  Fun, fun!

Here is a picture of 4 generations - Great Grandpa, Claire, Grandma Neat Neat, and Daddy.

After we left the party, Claire and I went to Cooper's Snowballs in New Bern.  They were hosting a fundraiser for their great-niece who is 3 years old and needs a heart transplant in South Carolina.  A serious virus attacked her healthy heart and now she is on the Berlin Heart and at the hospital awaiting a heart.  So of course we had to go support this other heart baby!  Claire ordered a mango sugar free snowball.  She wasn't a fan of the cold ice, but she ate a bite anyway and felt good about helping out another heart baby like her.

So needless to say, we had a very busy weekend!  I actually had to wake Claire up this morning after 7 am since she was sleeping like a log and I had to go to work.  Have a great Monday!

Love,
The Scott Family
