A leaf connoisseur

And yes, I had to Google how to spell "connoisseur" as it is not a word used in our daily vocabulary just in case you were wondering!  :)

When we got home from Duke on Wednesday, the weather was beautiful!  It was about 70 degrees (which for December is great here!) so we decided we had to get out after being inside the hospital and the car all day.  So Claire and I went for a stroller ride around the farm for a while.  Then I figured she would probably love to just crawl around in the grass and get some energy out.

So of course there are lots of leaves in our almost 10 acre yard.  Lots.  And we discovered that Claire is now a leaf connoisseur.  I guarantee you that she tasted almost every single leaf in our yard as I chased after her doing the finger sweep to get them off of her tongue.  Every single 1,578 leaf.  No, really probably more like 30 leaves but you get the point.  She also discovered she prefers leaves over grass and pine straw.

Anyways, it was fun watching her chase the leaves over the yard.  And then watch her crawl away from me really fast after she took a bite of a leaf so I couldn't take it away from her.  Here are a few picture of her leaf tasting.   Each picture shows a different leaf.

Then Daddy came home and Claire showed off her driving skills.

All in all we had a great afternoon outside!  A great payoff for all the torture she went through at Duke.

Love,
The Scott Family
