Claire had a great night last night and a great day today. She was moved back over to TCN - right next to her BFF Eliza! I can only imagine what kind of secrets they are telling each other tonight since their cribs are side by side.....
We started working on the check list to go home. Yes, I said home. As you know, I am not counting my chickens before they hatch and I won't know that we are taking our baby home until we walk out of the front door or Duke University Hospital with her and put the car in drive. We have been through this song and dance before, so I am trying to be very cautiously optimistic.
Today, I had to do the CPR and choking video and demo to learn how to do this when we get home. I hope we never have to use it, but it's good to know. They have also started setting up Claire's appointments to come back to Duke and also her appointments at home. She has to do her car seat test again tonight and pass it. The test is only good for a week, so the last one she did doesn't count.
Please keep Claire's friends in your prayers. It's another check list we have:
- Elizabeth - had surgery today. Haven't seen her parents for an update.
- Eliza - doing well, but waiting to schedule her surgery.
- Claire Elizabeth (the other Claire) - had to have CT done today for her seizures. According to Facebook, her mom says she's doing better on the new medication, but I didn't get a chance to see if they found out anything from the CT tonight.
Are you seeing a trend with the names yet of Claire's friends?? They all have either "Claire" or "Eliza" in their names or both! And we all thought we were picking unpopular names..... :)
Also keep Claire's friend Remi in your prayers. She's the only one who has escaped Duke so far.
We know that Claire's favorite nurses are working for the next few days, so we ought to be good to go! It makes mommy and daddy's lives a little easier knowing we can trust Claire will be in good hands. These nurses love her about as much as we do!
Thanks again for all of the prayers and well wishes. We can never repay you.
Love,
The Scott Family
We are praying for Claires tiny friends too. And that Claire can come home soon and safely. She is so strong, more than any of us knew she would be! What a wonder to know that her friends there all have the same or similar names. She was def meant to be there and that this time.
