UPDATE 10/4/2010 @ 4 PM

Around 2:30 PM we received the blood work results on Rebecca.  The Doctor said that the blood platelets have risen slightly which is GREAT!  This means that Rebecca will be able to clot her own blood once the Claire is born.  The liver enzymes remained elevated due to the lack of removing the wastes in her body.  This is something they are continuing to monitor over the next several hours.  They are planning to run another blood test around 7 PM tonight just to check the levels.  If the levels of the platelets and the liver enzymes remain about the same they will not have to induce labor.  They are still considering this preeclampsia; HELLP Syndrome.

Right now the plan is to STAY PREGNANT as it has been over the past week.  The contractions are coming about every 5 minutes with a pain level of about 3 (on a scale of 1-10) which is why they have bumped her magnesium up to 3 Grams/Hour.  She is about 3 cm dilated caused by Claire’s head sitting low in the pelvic region.

Claire is measuring around 3.0 pounds and about 30 weeks along.  Every hour that we can keep baby Claire from being born allows her lungs and heart to grow!  As always, please keep Rebecca and Claire in prayers and thoughts for the next several hours!

We will keep you posted.

Love,
Amanda
